The entire shoe is made in the Czech Republic, but not only from Czech materials. Unfortunately, it is not possible to ensure long-term serial production using materials from the Czech Republic. However, all materials are actually produced (not just imported) in the EU. We collect the leather in a Czech tannery, the cows come from free pastures. Did you know that cows are not killed for their leather? Using leather is essentially waste processing. Nowadays, a lot of cow hide ends up in incinerators, so we are happy that at least some of it will be used for further processing.

Our Story

In December 2020, Earth Sole's journey began. It all started when my friend Sarah handed me repurposed leather. I had recently watched the documentary "Kiss The Ground," and found myself drawn to the concept of "grounding." Holding the leather in my hand, I thought about how special it would be to create my own shoes, allowing me to stay in contact with the healthy energy of Mother Nature.

Throughout the following year, I continued being surprised by the interest my shoes got when I wore them myself. Despite having no experience in either leather or shoemaking, and recognizing the numerous benefits of the shoes, the idea of starting of making them for others too…

Fast forward to May 2022, I had moved back to Cape Town, and started looking for repurposed leather and for people to help me with the intricate 2-hour process of crafting a pair. I started measuring many people's feet, on both markets and parties and I continuously improved the designs made, again, by fitting them on people’s feet.

I started creating a small team, with locals that would work from home, in their own time and at their own pace. Although we do have a small studio in Cape Town, our ladies still work in their own space.

Walking the path to optimal health and fitness

The** Peluva® **story begins with a pioneering vision to change the way the world walks, and a dream collaboration between Mark Sisson and his son, Kyle Sisson (pictured above.) However, the real road to Peluva began almost 40 years ago when co-founder Mark Sisson began his transformation from an elite endurance athlete to a world-renowned health and fitness investigator. Sisson has always been primarily an educator. For two decades, he has promoted walking as the single best exercise (or form of movement) that anyone can do. The more the better in most cases. These shoes encourage the user to do just that. The time has never been more appropriate for a massive change in how we walk.

Prime Trotter’s shoes are handmade throughout the whole process. Handcrafting gives the ability to get over the strict delimitation of the sizes and provides the option of custom orders, to achieve maximum comfort. There is also the ability for the customers to choose their colors and leathers of preference.

Our vision is to make shoes from tested natural materials, in accordance with strict European standards and with a great deal of sympathy for living in harmony with nature. We make the shoes in a traditional manner with a lot of manual work at our home, under the Alps Mountains, but we always incorporate new knowledge and know-how as well.

Connect through your sole.

Raum Goods is on a quest to connect people back to mother earth. We set out to make an ethically-sourced shoe that was made of all-natural materials and conductive to the earth. Each shoe is made by a skilled group of artisans in Southern Turkey that have been making shoes for more than five generations. Over 10% of our artisans are Syrian refugees and that are trained by our expert Turkish cobblers. All leather used is a bi-product of the food industry and we use every bit of it. Our soles are naturally vegetable-tanned that does not use chrome in the tanning process. We significantly reduce water waste and pollution that is typical in the footwear industry by not using steel molds or harmful chemicals in our shoe making process. The vast majority of shoes have components sourced from all over the world. This significantly contributes to greenhouse gas emission during their transportation. We are so proud that ALL parts of our shoes are sourced locally to Southern Turkey within a 90 mile radius. This is virtually unheard of in modern footwear.

All of our products are shipped in natural linen bags and an outer shipping carton made from 100% post consumer recycled cardboard. We always look to eliminate waste wherever possible because we care about our planet. We are so proud to be able to provide our products and packaging with zero plastic!

I have trained in my craft using leather, being a natural material for shoes as it intuitively reflects the movement and flexibility of the foot. I make my shoes with great respect to the animal that lived before, they are designed to last - in defiance to all the masses of shoes made to rest in landfill and replaced by a new pair each time. The leather I have been using is called Full grain Italian which despite the name almost certainly from Argentinian cattle raised on the Pampa plains. Full grain means it is the strongest and most durable part of the hide of an animal from just below the hair. Additionally, since the grain is so tight, it resists moisture very well.

The SAGUARO barefoot shoe has a completely flexible sole. An important and convincing factor for every barefoot shoe. Furthermore, the sole is thin and the shoe has zerodrop. The points are convincing and make a barefoot shoe. So we have no heel and stand flat on the ground. The ground contact and a barefoot feeling are given. The thickness of the sole is a very good choice especially for beginners. Here SAGUARO can definitely keep up with common manufacturers.

We’ve spent years working out how to do it; not just to make them look great, which they do, but more importantly to make you feel like you’re running barefoot in a spring meadow. The natural step

In 2004, a Seattle mom was on a quest to find a shoe that was best in health and design for her son’s feet. She was looking for fun, sophisticated styles that also promoted healthy foot development; but she didn’t find any, so she created See Kai Run. Today, a dedicated team of footwear makers and designers carry on this mission. Our experience and footwear knowledge ensures that every style we produce is fun, fashionable and features the finest in materials and craftsmanship.

With much love for our pet projects, we produce a limited monthly number of barefoot shoes in Germany. Our specialized workshop, where our Senmotic shoes are sewn, glued and polished with passion, is located in Weißenfels, 50 kilometers from Leipzig. But we are more than just “handcrafted in Germany”. We buy all materials in Germany and tax all profits in Germany. In addition, we pay 3.18% of the profits from each sold barefoot shoe into our Senmotic Charity Fund.
