Care

Waterproofing before first-time wear

As with all Wildling minimal shoes, this model is made with a keen eye for detail. Important note: This model is not pre-waterproofed. We gladly leave the decision of whether you want to give your shoes extra protection to you.

You can make the upper more water repellent by carefully applying a waterproofing treatment.

Cleaning

The best way to clean soiled shoes is by knocking them together when they are dry, brushing them carefully as needed when dry, or by wiping them carefully with a damp cloth. Not machine washable.

Post-treatment

We recommend periodic follow-up waterproofing treatments with a suitable product.

Additional notes

Every single shoe is a handmade one of a kind, with an upper made from natural material. The structure and coloration may exhibit minor irregularities.

A hue appears different depending on the lighting conditions. That's why colors always look a little different on the screen, in artificial light at home, or outside in sunlight.

When putting on, please note: Widen the opening of the shoe sufficiently by loosening the laces. This minimizes wear on the material and extends the life of the shoe.

To clean your Droptop Knit, remove all loose dirt with a soft shoe brush. If necessary, go in with a clean, soft brush to apply some lukewarm water and a mild cleaning solution. Wipe any excess product with a moist cloth. Air dry at room temperature after cleaning or when the shoes get wet.

Make sure to regularly renew the water-repellent treatment, using a waterproofing spray. For best performance, we also recommend spraying them before you first wear them.

The Droptop Knit is not machine washable, as this removes its water-repellent properties and might cause the upper material to lose its shape.

What type of rubber is used on the Elemental? Is it natural?

The sole is an 8mm Vibram® Gumlite Outsole which is an expanded rubber compound with a specific weight 40% less than solid rubbers. It is not made of 100% natural rubber but it is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant.

How do I decide between the Elemental Lifestyle Sandals or Elemental Adventure Sandals?

The only difference between these two Elemental models are the lace, with the performance laced (adventure) sandals costing $5 more than the lifestyle laced edition. The lifestyle laces offer slightly more comfort while the performance (adventure) lace is more burly & secure. They come in different color schemes which may be a deciding factor.

What aspect of the Elemental distinguishes its performance from the other sandal models?

The Elemental features no bedding allowing it to shed water and keep its lightweight properties in wet conditions.

Who is the ideal candidate for a pair of Elementals?

Somebody with strong feet who is looking for the minimal amount of protection. They are most likely a frequent barefooter and just looking for some something to expand their barefoot range.

*This sole thickness reads 8mm but it feels more like 6mm due to its rather low density composition.

The Enix 080 are the most versatile sandals we make: with a total thickness of 8mm and a more aggressive tack pattern than the 050 or 105, although it does maintain their Morflex compound. The 080 is suitable for running on asphalt as well as for entering simple paths and tracks. Its one-piece Vibram sole and the characteristics of its compound make them extremely comfortable by adapting to the foot almost immediately and transmitting extraordinary flexibility and lightness.

It incorporates the new tubular belts with great resistance to abrasion. At the outer end, the closure is achieved with a resistant clasp, while at the opposite end we maintain the Enix closure, with large-area velcro to ensure an optimal fit. Finished off with our EGS footbed: a thin layer of resistant, non-slip synthetic material that considerably improves the traction of the foot on the sandal both in dry and wet conditions.

The Enix105 provide extra grip and comfort thanks to the Vibram Woodstock iron.

Its more aggressive pattern than its predecessors, offers greater resistance and an excellent grip with the ground, being ideal for all types of terrain.

Its great flexibility, despite the thickness, is due to the Morflex © compound used by Vibram © for this plate model. This flexibility also favors a quick adaptation and makes it curve adopting the shape of our feet within a few kilometers of using it. The central knot is hidden in the sole, to protect against erosion and wear.

The EnixBOLD has been conceived for long distances in the mountains, with 13mm thickness it allows you to run on technical terrain for longer thanks to the combination of the medium density of the 5mm EVA rubber and the comfort provided by the Clivia 8mm sole. Without completely eliminating the connection with the terrain, it offers incredible protection so that the foot does not stress as the running hours go by. Its density allows it to adapt to the foot in a few hours of use, increasing its comfortability.
