The Tadeevo shoes are manufactured in Targanice located in a picturesque area of Beskid Mały in Southern Poland. There are many craft workshops in this area producing shoes and cultivating tradition of making footwear which goes back to the Middle Ages.
We are a small company and we want to stay that way. The idea of producing minimalist shoes stemmed from our interests: paleo diet, natural running, minimalism and evolutionary anthropology. We made the first minimalist shoes just for fun and for our own use. Therefore we are not interested in compromising.
Our aim is not mass production, what we want is to make ultra-minimalist shoes for people who consciously choose natural movement. Our shoes are not made just for comfort (although they are very comfortable), rather they are designed to emulate barefoot walking as closely as possible. We keep the shoes extremely minimalist, pushing the boundaries of what is commonly understood as comfort. The product is directed at people who decide in favor of uncompromising dogmatic minimalism.
Our approach is scientific – we like to experiment and try new things out. To materialize our idea we started a cooperation between scientists interested in evolutionary anthropology and biology as well as craftsmen who have experience in designing and manufacturing footwear going back generations. This became a very educational experience for all of us .
People like Mark Sisson, Leo Barbuta and Joshua Becker are our inspiration.
