Golden Toe note

Why it earned a Golden Toe note

Very minimal maximum ground feel. The knobs on the bottom of the sole can cause blisters in some cases, you might have to flatten some of them to make it usable.

Wearer insights

Bivouac sandals: poor fit, wide, slipping on slopes; Xero extra strap adds security; Z-Trail great for 15-mile hikes, but not in rain; Decathlon Bivouac: slight heel rise, stiffer sole, budget-friendly; minimalist, easy use, disliked cupped heel; Z-Treks & Trek 500s: cheap barefoot option, Velcro strap disliked; softer footbed in Z-Trails; potential for Decathlon v2.
