Tanuki

Product Information: The Tanuki models are a collaboration between Mr. Itioi and Wildling. Made from Japanese washi paper, these shoes are lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for warm conditions. They weigh only 2 to 5.3 ounces, giving the wearer a feeling of freedom. The paper upper is permeable and dries quickly, making these shoes ideal for water adventures. The insoles can be removed or replaced with washi insoles (available separately).

Material: - Upper / Edging: Washi (ITOITEX – 75% paper, 25% polyester) - vanilla - Interior lining: Washi (ITOITEX – 75% paper, 25% polyester) - Mid-sole: 100% certified organically grown cotton - Insole: Hemp-flax fleece (50% hemp, 50% flax) [removable] - Outsole: 60% synthetic rubber containing approx. 33% recycled material, 25% silica, 15% recycled cork – off-white

Fit: These shoes are true to size as measured with the Fitkit.

Care: - Waterproofing before first-time wear is not necessary as these shoes are water-permeable. - If the shoes get soiled, gently brush them clean when dry or wash them gently by hand. Do not machine wash. - After walking through salt water, rinse the shoes well with fresh water. - To care for the insoles, remove them from the shoes after use for airing and to avoid moisture build-up. They can be washed by hand and should be allowed to dry completely before putting them back. Additional notes: - Each shoe is handmade and unique, with minor irregularities in structure and coloration. - Colors may appear different depending on lighting conditions. - When putting on the shoes, widen the opening by loosening the laces to minimize wear on the material and extend the life of the shoe.
