Renette’s patchwork is made with a new cotton-hemp twill, plus two fabrics we’ve used in earlier Wildling shoes. We used inventory stock to make the most sustainable use of our resources – in keeping with the “Reuse” motto, which is embroidered on the interior of the right shoe. Vegan model for the in-between seasons Just the thing for those transitional months, this mid cut is made without a thick lining; instead, its soft, 100% cotton flannel lining makes it a perfectly cushy vegan companion. Convenient heel loop The handy, easy-to-grip heel loop makes it easier than ever to slip right into this minimal shoe. Material Upper: Vamp: Twill (60% cotton, 40% hemp) – denim blue Quarter I: Canvas (100% recycled cotton) – sky blue [Pegasus] Quarter II: Twill (100% certified organic cotton) – black [Panther] Membrane: 100% polyester Interior lining: Flannel (100% certified organic cotton)  – black-blue plaid Mid-sole: 100% certified organically grown cotton – off-white Insole: Hemp-flax fleece (50% hemp, 50% flax) Edging: Microfiber (100% polyamide) – midnight blue Outsole: 60% synthetic rubber containing approx. 33% recycled material, 25% silica, 15% recycled cork – midnight blue Fit True to size as measured with the Fitkit . Care Waterproofing before first-time wear There is no need to apply waterproofing treatment to the entire shoe right out of the box – that has already been taken care of during production (and in this case, doubling up won’t make it last longer). Before first-time wear, we do recommend that you waterproof the edging again. This may cause the edging to darken slightly, so don’t be surprised. Tip: Using a brush is the best way to apply the waterproofing product. If you choose to spray it on, be sure to cover the rest of the shoe. Repeat the waterproofing treatment as needed. Cleaning The best way to clean soiled shoes is by knocking them together when they are dry, brushing them carefully as needed when dry, or by wiping them carefully with a damp cloth. Not machine washable. Post-treatment We recommend periodic follow-up waterproofing treatments with a suitable product. Additional notes Every single shoe is a handmade one of a kind, with an upper made from natural material. The structure and coloration may exhibit minor irregularities. A hue appears different depending on the lighting conditions. That's why colors always look a little different on the screen, in artificial light at home, or outside in sunlight. When putting on, please note: Widen the opening of the shoe sufficiently by loosening the laces. This minimizes wear on the material and extends the life of the shoe.
