The Perto model was developed in conjunction with Rewilding Portugal as an ideal companion for cold weather. The focus here is on short supply routes, regional resources and building up our own added-value chain. All of the upper’s components are sourced within a radius of only 150 kilometers from the Wildling Shoes pr Warming Portuguese wool makes this mid cut stand out. Product information The Perto model was developed in conjunction with Rewilding Portugal as an ideal companion for cold weather. The focus here is on short supply routes, regional resources and building up our own added-value chain. All of the upper’s components are sourced within a radius of only 150 kilometers from the Wildling Shoes production site in Portugal. The upper material is undyed, and the herringbone pattern is a product of the wool’s natural colors and a special weave. The use of 100% virgin wool in the upper material, wool in the lining and wool loden (100% virgin wool) as padding from the Nordwolle company keeps our feet warm and dry. Material Upper: Herringbone (100% virgin wool) – beige Membrane: 100% polyester containing approx. 75% recycled material Lining / insole: Felted wool loden (100% virgin wool) [Nordwolle] Edging: Microfiber (100% polyamide) – beige Outsole: 60% synthetic rubber containing approx. 33% recycled material, 25% silica, 15% recycled cork – dark brown Fit True to size as measured with the Fitkit . Runs a little wider and provides ample room at the forefoot. For narrow feet, we recommend an insole. Care Waterproofing before first-time wear As with all Wildling minimal shoes, this model is made with a keen eye for detail. Important note: This model is not pre-waterproofed. We gladly leave the decision of whether you want to give your shoes extra protection to you. You can make the upper more water repellent by carefully applying a waterproofing treatment. Cleaning The best way to clean soiled shoes is by knocking them together when they are dry, brushing them carefully as needed when dry, or by wiping them carefully with a damp cloth. Not machine washable. Post-treatment We recommend periodic follow-up waterproofing treatments with a suitable product. Additional notes Every single shoe is a handmade one of a kind, with an upper made from natural material. The structure and coloration may exhibit minor irregularities. A hue appears different depending on the lighting conditions. That's why colors always look a little different on the screen, in artificial light at home, or outside in sunlight. When putting on, please note: Widen the opening of the shoe sufficiently by loosening the laces. This minimizes wear on the material and extends the life of the shoe.
