Product information The shimmering colors of the upper material come from the interplay between two types of wool: undyed, naturally brown wool from Black Welsh Mountain sheep and around 25% plant-based-dyed recycled wool. The lining is made of virgin wool from Nordwolle, our partner company for many years. This means it comes from sheep that are kept as part of our landscape protection projects. The result is a model that surrounds our feet with wool fabrics that keep us warm and simultaneously have a climate-regulating effect. Material Upper: Broken twill (100 % wool) – brown-blue Membrane: 100% polyester containing approx. 75% recycled material Lining / insole: Felted wool loden (100% virgin wool) [Nordwolle] Edging: Microfiber (100% polyamide) – gray blue Outsole: 60% synthetic rubber containing approx. 50% recycled material, 20% cork – dark blue Fit Runs just slightly shorter. Care Waterproofing before first-time wear There is no need to apply waterproofing treatment to the entire shoe right out of the box – that has already been taken care of during production (and in this case, doubling up won’t make it last longer). Before first-time wear, we do recommend that you waterproof the edging again. This may cause the edging to darken slightly, so don’t be surprised. Tip: Using a brush is the best way to apply the waterproofing product. If you choose to spray it on, be sure to cover the rest of the shoe. Repeat the waterproofing treatment as needed. Cleaning The best way to clean soiled shoes is by knocking them together when they are dry, brushing them carefully as needed when dry, or by wiping them carefully with a damp cloth. Not machine washable. Post-treatment We recommend periodic follow-up waterproofing treatments with a suitable product. Additional notes Every single shoe is a handmade one of a kind, with an upper made from natural material. The structure and coloration may exhibit minor irregularities. A hue appears different depending on the lighting conditions. That's why colors always look a little different on the screen, in artificial light at home, or outside in sunlight. When putting on, please note: Widen the opening of the shoe sufficiently by loosening the laces. This minimizes wear on the material and extends the life of the shoe.
