What the industry gains

Is it just your business—or an industry shift?

Demand down? Stock harder to hold? Costs easing? Confidential responses from brands, makers and retailers give the industry a shared reference point, in your country and worldwide.

The public Pulse is free to read and cite. Each quarter adds evidence to help businesses make better decisions—and feeds into State of Barefoot. Country comparisons appear when enough businesses respond.

What you get for taking part

Why be a panelist?

Your quarterly contributor report

The Exclusive Panelist Report

A more granular view than the public Pulse: question-by-question results, supported comparisons and notable anonymous comments. More detail to compare with what you’re seeing in your own business.

More detail never means access to another business’s answers.

See the Pulse before everyone else

The target is a seven-day head start on the public Pulse after each survey.

See how the picture changes

Compare quarters and see how your answer compares with similar businesses, where the sample supports it.

Suggest future topics

Put the questions facing your industry on the panel’s agenda.

Recognition, if you want it

Choose a contributor logo credit and panelist badge. Recognition is optional; your answers stay private.

Before you join

Who can be a panelist?

If you own, work at or have first-hand insight into a barefoot shoe brand, maker or specialist retailer, the panel is for you. Influencers, creators and other industry professionals can contribute too.

When is the first survey, and how long does it take?

The first survey is planned for Q1 2027, looking back at Q4 2026. There is no survey to complete when you join. Business surveys target around 90 seconds, using the same core each quarter. Creator/professional questions and timing will be confirmed before their invitation.

Will competitors see my answers?

No. Minimal-list can connect your answers to you to manage participation and compare quarters. Competitors and sponsors never receive individual responses. Both reports use grouped findings, and small groups are withheld if they could identify a contributor. An attributed quote requires separate permission.

Do brands, retailers and creators answer the same questions?

Brands, makers and retailers share a consistent business-condition core. Business-condition charts use their responses only. Creators and other professionals contribute their own perspective; those views are labelled and reported separately, so a creator’s answer is never treated as a brand’s sales result.

What is the Exclusive Panelist Report?

A more detailed report for contributors, alongside the free public Pulse. It includes question-by-question results, supported comparisons and unattributed comments. More detail never means access to another business’s individual answers.

How do I get the Industry Intelligence Pack free?

Complete the first Pulse survey in Q1 2027 to receive the 2026 Industry Intelligence Pack free at release. The public report is already free for everyone. Complete all four surveys sent during 2027 to earn the 2027 Pack, published after year-end. Completion means submitting the core answers in the survey for your contributor role; comments are optional. Participation stays with your organisation through an agreed contact handover. Joining alone does not earn a Pack.

Do I have to take every survey?

No. You can skip a survey, email hello@minimal-list.org to pause invitations or leave. Each survey has at most two reminders. The quarterly contributor benefits follow the surveys you complete. Skipping the first survey means missing the 2026 launch offer; skipping a 2027 survey means not earning the four-survey 2027 Pack.

Will my brand be named or shown?

Only if you choose public recognition. We’ll request the logo and your permission separately before publication. Recognition and a panelist badge do not reveal your survey answers. You can contribute privately.

Can a colleague take over?

Yes. Your colleague accepts the invitation and confirms their own email using the same organisation website. Email hello@minimal-list.org to arrange the contact handover. Their email permission is separate from yours; participation stays with the organisation.

Who runs the panel?

Minimal-list organises the Barefoot Shoe Industry Panel and produces the reports. Sponsorship has no control over questions or findings, and individual answers are not used for sales targeting. Panel emails are separate from the weekly newsletter.
