Designed in the UK by Gaucho Ninja, we are now offering these unique barefoot shoes at an affordable price.

Our shoes follow the natural shape of the foot allowing your feet to spread out naturally providing great for comfort and stability. We offer a range of soles including three zero rise options. These can be put onto any of our styles for men, women and children. Zero-rise means the sole is completely flat. Our shoes do not come with any padding or support inside the shoe.

Our shoes have ‘less shoe’ in them. Deliberately. We combine the best materials, components and design though, to make your experience the best balance we can between natural movement and fitness for the job you’re on – whether hurtling along a hill trail or practising yoga. For almost 40 years now, we´ve passionately been engineering shoes with natural toefreedom®! Our concept can solve most of the problems, why your feet hurt. We´ve named that concept 'Functional Footwear':

All Russell boots and shoes are made in the true moccasin style. Natural, breathable leather wraps completely around the foot. There is no artificial filler under the foot. Add to that...handmade quality and your shoes being built on the venerable Munson Army Last with plenty of room for your toes to move...AND...being made to measure from tracings and measurements of your own feet...and the comfort level soars.

I have trained in my craft using leather, being a natural material for shoes as it intuitively reflects the movement and flexibility of the foot. I make my shoes with great respect to the animal that lived before, they are designed to last - in defiance to all the masses of shoes made to rest in landfill and replaced by a new pair each time. The leather I have been using is called Full grain Italian which despite the name almost certainly from Argentinian cattle raised on the Pampa plains. Full grain means it is the strongest and most durable part of the hide of an animal from just below the hair. Additionally, since the grain is so tight, it resists moisture very well.

With much love for our pet projects, we produce a limited monthly number of barefoot shoes in Germany. Our specialized workshop, where our Senmotic shoes are sewn, glued and polished with passion, is located in Weißenfels, 50 kilometers from Leipzig. But we are more than just “handcrafted in Germany”. We buy all materials in Germany and tax all profits in Germany. In addition, we pay 3.18% of the profits from each sold barefoot shoe into our Senmotic Charity Fund.
